Summer Camp Registration

Please complete the steps below to confirm your child’s participation and register them by June 1st.

Natural Curiosity Animas Campus*

20 Cadena Rd, Caballo, NM 87931

  • *Turn in “Natural Curiosity Animas Campus Gate” & follow drive across the creek to the main house.

  • If your vehicle can’t drive across the creek (low-clearance cars), you can park before the creek and walk across the extension bridge.

What do I need for camp?

What MUST I bring?

  1. Close-toed shoes (tennis shoes or boots) are REQUIRED.

  2. Appropriate clothing for participating in outdoor activities most of the day. (shorts are OK)

  3. Any medication (prescription or OTC) you are required to take between 8:30AM - 4:00PM.

  4. A good attitude and sense of adventure! (most important thing)

  1. Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks, Drinks

  2. Water Bottle (lots of cold water, lemonade, gatorade will be availble)

  3. Backpack

  4. Hat

  5. Poncho (in case it rains)

  6. Compass (for learning to navigate)

  7. Sunscreen

  8. Bug Spray

  9. Field Guides

  10. Field notebook

  11. Pens/pencils/art supplies

What will be provided? (You don’t need to bring these things, but you can bring your own if you’d like)

  1. Camera

  2. Cell phone / smart phone (We will discourage use of phones except for the purpose of enhancing your learning experience by taking photos, taking notes, or using educational apps like a field guide)

  3. Rain Jacket

  4. Hat

  5. Binoculars (we should have some to share)

What could I bring?

What must I NOT bring?

  1. Weapons of any kind (NO GUNS or KNIVES ALLOWED)!

  2. ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES (this includes prescription medications not prescribed to you and anything illegal for your age group).

  3. Vape Pens / Cigarettes

  4. Lighters / Matches

  5. Valuables like jewelry or nostalgic items you would be very sad if you lost or they were damaged.

  6. Bad attitude. (if you show up with this we will do our best to get rid of it)
